New to church?
Two services take place every Sunday.
11.30am - 12.30pm
6.30pm - 7.30pm
Sunday evenings have a more relaxed feel and there is an opportunity to stay after the service and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.
When you arrive at church, you will be greeted at the front door by one of our church leaders. You may then go ahead into the main area of the church choosing to sit either downstairs, or upstairs in the balcony – feel free to sit wherever you like. Regulars generally sit in similar areas of the church each week but do not have specific seats.
We sing using a combination of contemporary and traditional songs with various instruments to accompany. There is no dress code and you will not be expected to give money or join in the singing if you don’t want to.
A crèche is available for pre–school children. Children of primary school age leave after about 20 minutes of the Sunday morning service to go to Kid's Ministry.
The evening services are similar, although there is no crèche facility available. They tend to be quite informal and have a stronger teaching element. We start at 6.30pm and finish around 7.30pm. After the service tea, coffee and biscuits are served in church.
The services in the morning and evening follow a familiar theme from week to week with hymns, songs, prayers, bible readings and a sermon. The minister will preach a sermon, talking to the congregation about some aspect of the Bible, encouraging us to apply what God says to our everyday ordinary lives.

When you arrive, you'll be greeted at the door and some of our welcome team will help you find somewhere comfortable to sit. There are no reserved seats. When the service starts, there is a mixture of singing, prayers, and a talk. Clear guidance is usually given from the front. In the morning there is also a kids slot before the younger children head out to their activities.
Whatever you feel comfortable in. We are informal, and you will see some people dressed in jeans, some in shorts and t-shirt, some in suit jackets.
Services are usually just over an hour long, although some special occasions, like The Lord's Supper or when there are baptisms, might be a little bit longer.

Of course! Kids are a huge part of our church community.
In the mornings, children of primary school age (P1–P5) leave part way through the service for Kid's Ministry. P6–P7 sit together during the service and stay in until after the sermon. Of course, all children are also welcome to stay with their families throughout.
Also in the mornings, Tiny Treasures (for babies and preschoolers) is available from before the service starts until it ends.
Many families come out together to our evening services. There are no specific kids activities, but people of all ages enjoy tea, coffee and refreshments after the service - sometimes long into the evening.

Hill Street is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, which has over 185,000 members in 500+ congregations across the island. The PCI is a Protestant Christian denomination, where local congregations are led by a minister and elders.
We believe the Bible is central to life as a Christian, given to us by our God, and this informs everything we do when we meet for worship: you'll be encouraged to pick one up (we have them in the pews) and follow along with what is being taught, so that you can explore God's Word for yourself.
We also want to be a people of prayer, and many people meet before the morning and evening services to pray for our church community and other concerns (10.30am and 6pm).
In short: we are trying to be a community of believers who take Jesus and his Word seriously, but not take ourselves too seriously!
