| Purpose/Aims
of Organisation: |
|
The Youth Fellowship aims to encourage
spiritual growth in, typically, our own church’s young people. Through teaching, group discussions, fun and fellowship we aim to
present the gospel in a way that helps our young people understand
and develop their relationship with God. |
|
| What
age range/who is the organisation for: |
|
Year 9 and upwards. Boys and girls. Everybody is welcome (church members or friends that don’t go to our
church). |
| When
does the organisation meet and for how long: |
|
We meet every Sunday evening after the
evening service, usually starting our meeting a 8.45pm. Meetings
typically last one hour. |
| What
happens during a typical meeting: |
|
No meeting is typical! We have guests
speakers, praise and prayer nights (usually with pizza!), bible
study nights (usually with group discussions) and fun nights. All
our evenings are very informal; the more you put it, the more you
get out! |
| Special
events/projects in the past: |
|
We have an annual weekend away – last
year we went to Sheep Island View guest house in Ballintoy. Pastor
Stefan McNally of Lurgan Elim was our speaker, his theme being “The
Journey”. As always the weekend was great fun. We also have an
annual Christmas dinner – Christmas ’04 saw another alternative
Christmas dinner, most popular items on the menu being chicken curry
with fried rice and pizza. |
| Special
events/projects in the future: |
|
Our weekend this year is from Friday 1st
July to Sunday 3rd July (so no excuses about exams!!). This year
we’re going to the Scout Centre at Crawfordsburn. |
