| Purpose/Aims
of Organisation: |
|
BB is a uniformed organisation for Boys, established
and underpinned by the Christian faith.
Our aim (objective) is “The Advancement of Christ’s
Kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience,
Reverence, Discipline, Self Respect and all that tends towards a
true Christian Manliness” |
 |
|
Our emblem is an Anchor which stands for the
strength, hope and security which God gives and the new life we have
through Jesus (the red cross).
Our Motto is taken from Hebrews Ch 6 v 19. “Such
hope we have as an Anchor of the soul both Sure and Steadfast”.
It is our Prayer that many of our Boys would come to
know Jesus as their friend and Saviour. |

1st Lurgan BB is a thriving organisation
with a long and distinctive past, a hectic present, and an exciting
future!! We are a busy part of a World Wide Christian
Organisation, based at Hill St Pres. Church, which has rightly
earned the reputation as “First for Boys” and having been
around for more than 120 years, is part of the Boyhood experience of
many adults. The Boys Brigade programme review has been completed
and launched in our Company September 2005, offering new and
exciting, action packed programmes and activities for today’s Boys.
BB Badgework is developed from Luke Ch 2 v 52 “And Jesus grew in
wisdom and in stature and in favour with God and man” – we seek to
catch the energy and enthusiasm of youth and channel it
purposefully. BB is a life style training ground for the growing up
years and will enable each individual Boy to grow into an adulthood
that balances physical, moral, social and Spiritual skills.
Come and join the Fun! Anchor Boys offer so
much – a time packed with games and songs, crafts and stories,
expressively designed for their age. These Boys are excited by each
new discovery!
If your Boy is not
involved in BB please encourage him to come along - this is
the start of fun and friendships, the start of learning to play
together and indeed for many, the start of their time in the Boys
Brigade!!
